The fat that forms a double chin resists most attempts to remove it. You may lose weight but see no reduction in your double chin. Kybella® helps remove this fat using synthetic deoxycholic acid. The same molecule occurs in our digestive system where it helps break down and absorb fats from our diet. When injected, it breaks down fat cells so the body can remove them.
If you want to remove a double chin and slim your neck, Kybella® may work for you. Neck liposuction also effectively removes neck fat, but it is more invasive and requires more recovery time. Kybella® works through a series of injections so that you can return to normal activities right away.
You will probably need at least two sessions of Kybella® to see results. You may need a maximum of six sessions spaced one month apart. Results may develop after a few weeks as the body carries away damaged fat cells. This process will continue even after your last treatment.
