What Is the Enlighten™ Laser?
Enlighten™ is a safe and effective tattoo removal system that uses multiple wavelengths to break up the pigmented ink within your unwanted tattoo. The laser treatment can be customized to quickly remove even hard-to-treat colors like green, orange, pink, and red. After treatment, your body will naturally metabolize and expel the damaged pigmented cells. You’ll see your tattoo begin to fade within a few days after your first Enlighten™ session.
What to Expect During Treatment?
Prior to treatment, a topical numbing cream will be applied to provide a painless experience. And we have a special machine to chill the treatment area too. If you’re very sensitive we can numb the area with novocaine like in a dentist office. Most patients are pleasantly surprised at how easy the treatment actually is. Some people feel a slight stinging sensation throughout longer treatments but discomfort levels are much milder than the original tattoo. Treatment times can vary based on the size of the tattoo being addressed. You can expect your laser tattoo removal to last anywhere from 15-45 minutes.
Does Laser Tattoo Removal Hurt After Treatment?
Side effects are typically minimal but may include blistering, redness, swelling, and tenderness similar to that of a mild sunburn. The majority of side effects will subside within a week after treatment. There is no downtime with Enlighten™ laser treatments and you’re able to return to work directly after treatment with minimal restrictions.
