How Does CoolSculpting® Treat Stubborn Fat?

CoolSculpting® Elite works because fat cells freeze before other kinds of cells. Fat cells begin to freeze and crystallize as the applicators lower the temperature, damaging their membranes. Your body’s lymphatic system recognizes the damaged fat cells and filters them away for removal from the body.

CoolSculpting® Elite has no effect on skin or other tissues, making it non-invasive and preventing the need for recovery time. CoolSculpting® Elite can remove up to 25% of treated fat in a single treatment. Many people need one treatment to achieve their desired results, but you can have more treatments if you need them to reach your goals.

What Should I Expect During CoolSculpting®?

Your CoolSculpting® Elite treatment begins when your NYSVC specialist places a gel on your skin, followed by the applicators. Unlike legacy CoolSculpting® treatments, CoolSculpting® Elite can treat two areas in the same session.

Your skin will feel cold as treatment starts but should become numb very quickly. You can relax and occupy yourself by reading or checking your emails while treatment proceeds. Some areas take as little as 30 minutes, while others may take 60 minutes or more.

NYSVC offers complimentary Zimmer ZWave treatment after your CoolSculpting treatment. This 5 minute session of acoustic wave therapy further kills fat and smoothes out the areas treated.

Is There Any Downtime After CoolSculpting®?

You can leave your CoolSculpting® Elite treatment and return to your usual activities. This non-invasive treatment requires no downtime. Your skin in the treated area may feel red, sensitive, and swollen for a few hours to days. Some people may also notice some tingling or numbness. You will have no limits on your daily activities, including your exercise routine.

What Results Will I See With CoolSculpting®?

Most people start to see CoolSculpting® Elite results within a few weeks of treatment. Full results take about three months to develop.
