How Long Does SofWave™ Skin Tightening Last?

What is SofWave™?

Many treatments, such as microneedling or laser resurfacing, trigger collagen production to improve skin’s firmness and texture. Unlike microneedling or lasers, SofWave™ ultrasound travels harmlessly through the skin to target the deeper layers where collagen is produced.

How Does SofWave™ Work for Skin Tightening?

SofWave™ uses unique SUBERB™ (Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam) technology. This form of ultrasound energy travels to a depth of 1.5mm into the skin. This layer of skin contains fibroblasts which are cells that produce collagen. The ultrasound energy heats this layer, triggering these cells to increase their collagen production. As a result, you can expect visible skin tightening with long-lasting results. SofCool™ technology protects your skin from the heat and keeps you comfortable throughout the treatment.

How Long Does Sofwave™ Skin Tightening Last?

Like other treatments that trigger collagen development, SofWave™ results take time to develop. Your results will start to appear after a few weeks, with full results visible within a few months. You can expect your SofWave™ results to last a year or more. Yearly maintenance treatments can keep collagen levels high and your skin looking firm. While the majority of people only need one SofWave™ treatment, a select few with deeper wrinkles need more than one to achieve the skin tightening they want.

Sofwave™ is FDA-approved to treat several areas of the face and neck. SofWave™ can treat mild to moderate skin laxity, fine lines and wrinkles, and the appearance of jowls. Is There Any Downtime With SofWave™?

SofWave™ is a non-invasive treatment that requires no downtime. You may notice some slight redness and swelling in the treated area, but these side effects are usually mild and short-lived. You can return to your normal activities immediately after the treatment, with no restrictions on exercise or other activities.

I came to see Dr. Dohner because my legs really ached, and I had a difficult time to put a sock on my left leg because of swelling and tender to the touch. He did an in office procedure to close my veins. I can now put my sock on with no problem. I walk a lot better and can climb stairs without them aching.
