The most common cause of skin cancer is repeated, unprotected exposure to UV rays. Whether those come directly from the sun or from a tanning bed, excess UV exposure can damage the DNA inside your skin cells, causing basal or squamous cell carcinomas to form (the most common types of skin cancer).

We offer a wide range of diagnostic and treatment options for suspicious lesions and skin cancer. From start to finish, we’re here to help. Suspicious lesions are removed via shave or punch biopsy and sent to our dermatopathologists. If necessary, we also perform surgical excisions in the office to completely remove skin cancer.
Dr. Dohner and his team will work with you following your diagnosis to develop a specialized treatment plan for you that will remove your skin cancer. After your treatment, you should be skin-cancer free.
Most skin cancer treatments require minimal downtime. After your treatment, it’s imperative that you protect your skin by avoiding direct contact with UV rays and using sunscreen when outside.
